Composer to composer p. 7, 8, 9.

Final pages from the book "One step to creativity*

         7. This has never happened and, 1 believe, never will. Accordingly, I have no desire to cease the work which 1 began long ago. I never write music until I feel an insistent need to. Meanwhile, suppressing my impulses, 1 carry to melody inside me like a disease. The temperature mounts. For some time, the rhythms tortures me, doesn't let me sleep. But later the temperature falls. Recovery comes the music is written. The more complicated the musical form, the higher must have been the temperature and the graver the disease. I love and often indulge experiments.Music for me is just as much the alchemy of sounds as their splitting into atoms and computer analysis.

       8. Of course, fashion change, just as do musical forms. But what remains immutable is the thing we call Music, which no theorist or wizard has yet managed to define precisely. For music is just as impalpable and indescribable in world as the mastery of ancient magic.

And music is magic. The magic of sounds. The musical sound bears an invisible magnetic charge. Hence its wonderful power of attraction. I am very fond of improvisation, when the boiling sound lava resembles primeval chaos. In its depth, traditional and spontaneous sounds, entire sound masses engage in mortal struggle. I love this nonprogrammable sound chaos, which originates unexpected melody and New Harmony , rather like the insoluble theorem in cosmic geometry eventually, I developed my own musical form which may be called a methagramme.

9. And here through synthesis, rhythm and melody fused into a single entity an integral whole. Although, to be frank, at times I grow weary of observing galactic explosions and long for pastorals of green meadows, clear as folk song of the thrush.

Childhood calls me back. Oh yes. I forgot to say I was born, grew up and still near the Land, which we call the Polysia – Volyn.
